Both HBO Max-DC live-action series Titans and Doom Patrol will end with their current fourth seasons at the streaming service, Variety is reporting. According to the report, their source stated that the two programs were aware that these would be their final seasons for a while now. Both series will have definitive proper endings.
Season 4 of the DC Comics adaptations will consist of 12 episodes, which will be split into two six-episode blocks. The same source said that the endings were not part of the cost-cutting measurements that have been going on for almost a year since the Warner Bros.-Discovery merger under David Zaslav.
Both series debuted on the now-defunct DC Universe streaming service and switched over to HBO Max for their third seasons along with the Harley Quinn adult animated series. The latter was renewed for Season 4 last August.
Director James Gunn, who now co-leads DC Studios along with Peter Safran, said on Twitter that the shows ending had nothing to do with the DC Universe that the two creatives are at-work restructuring since their promotion last fall.
